Question Ford Direct vs. AutobyTel et al.

Is there any advantage to using one of the online car sites such as AutoByTel instead of the Ford Direct site? I bought my Ford Contour using AutoByTel in '96, and it was the best buying experience I've had, no pressure at all, prices in advance, etc. I realize that with the demand for the FEH that the price is basically going to be THE price, barring any attempted dealer surcharges that I've read about here.
And would using Ford Direct get you in the "pipeline" quicker?

Thanks!

Fred

I know a dealer where you can order a FEH at invoice. You'll have to travel near Rochester, NY to get it. Van Bortel Ford. Jeff Clark is salesman. You will get the price in advance; you can check the invoice prices on Edmunds.com.
Purchased mine there and haven't looked back; a dealer much closer to my downstate home does servicing.
Don't think anything will get you in quicker than phone calls and dealing with dealers direct.
