Hello Gents!

So, I tried to get a OBD II monitor hooked up and do some tests...but, it seems I was unsuccessful. I used a console from CanOBD2 i.e.

http://www.canobd2.com/Products/Tools.aspx (Model 3100)
It says its compatible with any vehicle after 1996 but, it doesn't show me anything. It connects and tells me that "No DTC's are recorded on this vehicle's computer. Press button to check advanced DTC's" When I do that I get an option for Ford/Mazda for the following tests:

KOEO
KOER

But, on choosing either of them it does nothing. Could there be a possibility that the OBC port on my FEH is bad? The OBD II monitor is fine....because it works ok with other cars.

And I still intermittently get the "Service Brake Sys" warning....although the brakes were serviced in September. There is no ABS warning light and the brakes work just fine. A restart of the car also makes the warning go away.

Please advise

Thanks
Anish

Many OBD-II code readers only read generic codes, so it may not show that code. It might just like the wrench icon codes which aren't generic either.

Hello Folks!

So, I took my vehicle to a Ford dealer and had him check the brakes because that "Service Brake System" was getting on my nerves even though the brakes were performing fine. 1 day and $90 later...they said that there were no fault codes on the scanner with the brakes and ABS system and that they "RESET" the message in the computer because the brakes were just serviced in September and the mechanic who did that (not at the dealer) didn't reset the computer after changing the brakes. My suggestion to others it's better to get the brake servicing done at a dealer because they claim that only they have the eqpt. and expertise required to reset the brake monitoring system (for hybrids).

Anyway, they also claimed that there was grease on the brake disks which I managed to clean after spraying it with one of those brake cleaning sprays and a thorough wash down.

Let's see if I receive that message anymore...

Thanks all for your help
Anish
