It allows you to move in reverse with due speed with a really, low battery.

 

For those without a scangauge, the "EV Max" button should also have a lighted meter that indicates how far from starting the ICE that SoC, temp, or MPH are, so that you could back off and glide just before it came on.

I would additionally like to be able to N glide in EV above 43 MPH. That could really extend my downhill EV glides, without needing to slow myself down by going back into D or L.
