Oh, I just found this for the 2005 FEH on the IRS website ...

"The deduction will be limited to $500 for vehicles placed in service in 2006 and no deduction will be allowed after that year."

Note, this is the older "deduction", and not the newer "credit".

There are numerous threads on this topic. The bottom line is that buyers of a 2005 FEH purchased in 2006 are currently eligible for NOTHING. The only way you would be eligible for the 2006 credit is if ford were to 'certify' the 2005 FEH with the IRS. I would recommend you call and write Ford asking them to do so. There are a number of people who purchased 2005's in '06 to whom this problem applies. All of them are going to be screwed unless Ford takes this action.
