Has anyone replaced their 08 factory stereo with an after-market stereo? I am considering replacing mine with something else, perhaps with a navigation system and was wondering how it looks. I guess there has to be some type of adaptor to make it look built in???

 

Crutchfield includes a faceplate kit when you get a new radio. They sent me a picture last year when I was considering it and it looked decent, but stood out against the tan interior.

You can buy dash kits on your own from AutoAnything.com or similar stores. They can look quite good, but you'll pay a good amount for anything other than cheap plastic.

 

I had a Kenwood DNX-7100 installed and pulled my complete sound system out. The Garmin GPS unit is superior to the Ford unit but there is no hybrid functions/display with any aftermarket unit. That is what the scanguage II units are for.
