Default Activating TPMS

Hey Guys, I was going to revive an old TPMS thread, however I figured it may be easier to start a new thread.

I am looking to add TPMS to the vehicle. It seems I can get the ford sensors off eBay or a junkyard for a relatively cheap price. I can see that the light for the TPMS sensor does exist on the dash, however are the brains/receiver built in, or do I need something other than the sensors?

It seems that people have had no or only limited problems adding the sensors to a spare, however this is for those that already have a working TPMS system.

Is it as easy as adding the sensors, and then somehow activating the system? Is this activation something that I can do myself, or does it require the ($$$) dealer.

Thanks guys!

-Eric
