Default 2008 FEH Wrench Light & Engine Light ON - Error Code P2100

I was driving on highway and suddenly the wrench light is on. The RPM was limit to about 1700rpm and can not go higher no matter how hard I step the gas pedal. After restart it disappeared but later it came on again and also the check engine light is ON too. Went to a garage and the mechanic give me the code P2100:FF. He said the throttle actuator control module may fails. Anyone has similar problem?

Pretty common Ford issue.

Gives some other areas to check.

thank you very much Keith for the quick reply. So I assume my 2008 FEH need to replace the whole throttle body, not only the TP sensor?

I can't say. I've heard about there being issues with the TB, but I've never personally dealt with it.

The garage fixed my car. He said the Ford original throttle actuator is $1000 Canadian, but he found some re-manufactured parts in the US only $400 Canadian (1US$ = 1.35 Canadian). Plus labor is $150, oil change $50, I paid $600. Now I can drive on highway over 130 km/h, all the warning lights are off. Luckily this is not a hybrid system issue. My car only has 110,000km, but too old as year 2008.

Interesting, for a 2010, an aftermarket TB with actuator is around $150 but the 2008 is about double that. Since you are Canadian, try rockauto.com for parts. Canadians tend to pay very high prices for auto parts. Thinking of moving to the US.

Very true! We earn less and pay more in Canada. Thank you for the information buddy!
