I was driving on highway and suddenly the wrench light is on. The RPM was limit to about 1700rpm and can not go higher no matter how hard I step the gas pedal. After restart it disappeared but later it came on again and also the check engine light is ON too. Went to a garage and the mechanic give me the code P2100:FF. He said the throttle actuator control module may fails. Anyone has similar problem?
The garage fixed my car. He said the Ford original throttle actuator is $1000 Canadian, but he found some re-manufactured parts in the US only $400 Canadian (1US$ = 1.35 Canadian). Plus labor is $150, oil change $50, I paid $600. Now I can drive on highway over 130 km/h, all the warning lights are off. Luckily this is not a hybrid system issue. My car only has 110,000km, but too old as year 2008.
Interesting, for a 2010, an aftermarket TB with actuator is around $150 but the 2008 is about double that. Since you are Canadian, try rockauto.com for parts. Canadians tend to pay very high prices for auto parts. Thinking of moving to the US.
Very true! We earn less and pay more in Canada. Thank you for the information buddy!
