stevedebi - you do have a point when it comes to the electronics... it's always costly to replace that stuff...

Still I don't think their additional coverage is worth it, guess I've been lucky in the EE world. Take a look at what Consumer Reports says about the additional coverage packages. As I recall they're unimpressed with these.

But you are ignoring other kinds of seals. An o-ring is a seal, an omega seal is a kind of stainless steel seal, a quad ring is a seal...

Shall I go on?
Yeah, an "O" or "Q" ring can be used as a seal but can't be used as a seal on a rotating shaft. If they refer to a "seal" on a A/C system I doubt if they are refering to a "O"ring used on the fittings anywhere in the system.

Yes, the odds are with the companies, or they wouldn't issue the policies! But I like to know that while I am paying off a vehicle, I won't need to pay for anything except maintenance and wear items.

I was called on the 17th by Ford customer care and told the dealer would reverse the charges and bill Ford. They said it may take a few weeks for me to see them. I am keeping my fingers crossed! Thanks for (sarcasm alert) making it so easy Ford!

stevedebi - Yeah, I got it. When I was on active duty I had those appliance repair contracts. Again, I think Consumer Reports doesn't like them... but when I was away for extended periods I wanted my wife to just call & get something fixed. We did once have a refrigerator die and got a whole new compressor set up out of the deal! (& I was home to boot!!!). So, it's a trade off and your point is well made.

My 06 FEH, delivered Dec 05, is now at 99,823 and going strong. I'll keep my fingers crossed!
