Default 2008 Escape Hybrid diagnostics

My 4 weeks new 2008 Escape Hybrid was rear-ended just this week. i felt so bad...But, accident do happen. there is damage to rear bumper, needs to be replaced. SUV is still running fine..driving. sometime i see the back door open indication. I was wondering if i need to do any diagnostics to make sure hybrid battery is not damaged. The body shop said - they don't diagnose.

If you go back there and lift the carpet you can see the top of the battery.... its the silver cargo floor. Unless its dented in some way, I'm pretty sure it will be fine. All the cells are in separate tubes and are supported. I think you'd have to take a serious hit for there to be a problem. I've actually been rear ended myself already with no problems. My only fear is if the guy that did the repaining of my bumper used a heated paint booth which is a no-no with the battery. I didn't know that at the time, but it was a Ford Hybrid certified dealer that did the repair so they should have known, and the battery seems to be working fine.

Check the metal tubes for the A/C lines to the rear are A-OK.
They are under the car, to the driver side.

Good catch... I should have thought of checking those too.

Thanks for replying. I Checked the battery under the mat, it looked ok.
Bumper needs to be replaced. This bumper has backup sensor - body shop will order the original bumper from ford directly.

Yes, The body shop that doing repair is Ford dealer owned. They told me it is Ford body shop.
