2006 Ford Escape Hybrid battery failing
Hi,
Maybe someone here has experience with this - apparently my hybrid battery is failing (won't charge over 50%). I have a new car ordered, won't be here until October, so - I just need my car to get through about 3 months of minimal driving around town.
As of now, I have the A/C set to "Max", so the engine won't shut off when I stop at lights, etc. First question: Does this mean the hybrid system will be bypassed completely? If not, is there a way to do that?
Second question: If I shut off the "High Voltage Shut Off Switch", is the car drivable, and will that help the problem?
Thank you!

Max just forces the engine to run to drive the A/C compressor. There is no way to bypass the hybrid system.
If you shut of the HV switch, you will disable the car. The HV battery starts the engine. It can't start without it.
