I could have carried another five bags of wood pellets without any issue.

Alright! Now that's how you put this truck to use!

[Glad you didn't include any complaints about dash rattles or tire noise while you were delivering this load.]

Generally speaking, it's probably a 1/2 ton but knowing the curb weight, you can figure exactly what your load limits are. Of course, limits are clearly ignored here anyway!

I found that the GVW on a '05 FEH is 4680 lbs. and the curb weight of a 4WD '05 FEH is 3792 lbs. Using that info the max vehicle payload should be 888 lbs.

However, the owner's manual says the payload is 1,000 pounds, including passengers of course.

Actual payload is GVW-curb weight. Since when are you following the manufacturer's suggestions, considering what I've read about your towing practices??

We do what we have to do with what we have. I hauled 100 car and truck batteries in my Dad's 1/2 ton Ford pickup one time for 50 miles. I know I didn't air up the tires before and we know car batteries are heavy, let alone tractor and semi truck batteries. That truck was squatting and since it had a topper on it and I had to load all 100 batteries in a bent-over position, I was hurting.
