Re: 08 MMH vs FEH
I drove the MMH and then went and drove the FEH. As far as I can see the only 2 options that the FEH does not have available is the keyless entry number pad on the door (but it still has keyless entry), and lumbar on the seats. Other than that they seem to have the same stuff, other than little accents inside like crome around the a/c vents etc.. Personally I liked the FEH front grill better, with the re-design it looks meaner. IMHO

P.S. For anybody waiting on delivery: I'm at 8 weeks this coming Wednesday. A service tech we know and trust at the dealership chuckled when we said we expected it in 6 weeks, and said that the hybrids arrive very few and far between. Here's hoping Eight is Enough

Re: 08 MMH vs FEH
Does anybody know if the keyless entry number pad can be installed on the 08 FEH at all? Thinking about it I suspect that it can't be, but I know that is a feature I use a lot on my current Explorer, and was a bit sad to notice was unavailable on the FEH.

I was about to place an order for one, when I found one that was "close enough" to what I wanted 250 miles away in another state, so I took a day trip & now love my new FEH with all the options I would have ordered, plus a moonroof & better radio!

Re: 08 MMH vs FEH
While its not a huge deal, I know that I used the keyless entry pad a lot in my old Explorer; so although I'm hesitant to put more money into the car for something that's only used for getting into it, I'm considering it.
P.S. LOVE the new FEH - - the AWD is only rated at 29 mpg City / 27 Highway, and with all the tips and suggestions from this board, I'm at 33.0 mpg average since picking it up! Thank you!!!

Re: 08 MMH vs FEH
The 08 service documents show connector C500 (Keypad Switch Saay.) is in place in the driver's door wiring harness. That means they could plug in the keypad. It does not mean it will work because it may not be enabled!

Re: 08 MMH vs FEH
Install the wired-in factory style, or the wireless dealer style?

Re: 08 MMH vs FEH
IMHO, the new EPA mileage numbers are more realistic for gas-only vehicles, but too pestamistic for hybrids.

Re: 08 MMH vs FEH
It's possible that's just there because they use the same wiring harness for both vehicles. But you're right, it could be as simple as getting an MMH keypad and installing it into the FEH (assuming you don't have to make any major modifications to install it like cutting the sheet metal in the door )
