08 Brake pedal travel sensor failed C1524
Have an 08 Escape Hybrid with a C1524 code. I guess the brake pedal travel sensor is bad. Is there a way to fix the sensor instead of replacing it? It's too hard to find a replacement part.

This fellow has a video about it:
If you get the M/C from a boneyard, you can swap the sensor. He says you can't buy the sensor by itself.
You might be able to take it apart and CLEAN it internally.

What's also interesting from that video: there is clearly a LABEL on that sensor with a couple of barcodes and other info. printed on it. The video isn't high enough resolution to adequately magnify, but I will bet that unit DOES have a part number, perhaps encoded in the barcode.
If you have a barcode reader you might be able to read the number! Anyone with a Motorcraft subscription may also be able to look it up.
I will bet it's expensive/unobtanium as a discrete unit because Ford wants you to buy the whole master cylinder. So you are looking at taking yours apart and trying to get it working or salvaging one from a boneyard.

And Lo! The Ford part number IS available, but the part itself is disco according to this website:

You can buy it from people who have it for less than $15? If that's true it's a little miracle!

It may not be, you're right. I was doing my best with a quick search (I've never had to replace this part.) My main point is that from the video there is clearly a label stuck to that part with at least two barcodes on it. Maybe it is a pure internal Ford P/N not available to the general public, but you can take it apart from what I see.
