Final tally. 1397 miles @ 109.328 MPG.12.78 gallons to refill. 286 miles on the last flashing bar. Now discussions can turn to the elusive 1400 mile tank.

No 'dude, I will keep my HCH. The Prius is impressive, and very cool to drive, but I just can't see myself in it everyday. It is just too...different. I also think the HCH is more relaxing to hypermile in, and probably better suited to my daily commute. And I simply like the way it looks better.

I never did get the time or energy to get the HCH back on the course, so I settled for 90 mpg over 66 miles in it (2 laps). This performance is the start of my current tank.

 

From what they learned It sounds like 1400 would be doable with identical conditions.
