Post Looking for some Hybrids for NJ car show

I'm organizing a car show for the The Bergen Museum of
Art and Science in Paramus, NJ. The Car show is
coming together nicely. We have Vettes, Mustangs,
Renault's, Citroen's, and several other makes coming
including a few Mini's maybe some MG's. Still looking
for some Hybrid's to make an appearance.
The show is at the Bergen Mall, Paramus, NJ (Rt.4) on
Sunday Sept 18th.
Cars should arrive by 9:30am. Event is free.
Refreshments for sale. There will be activities for
children. Should be a lot fun. Even if just a few
Hybrid's came that would be great. I would be a first look at Hybrid's for many people at the show. (And with gas prices rising, people are starting to pay attention) Let me know
if you need more info. Feel free to pass this info to
other car clubs in the area. (Are there any local
Hybrid clubs in the NJ area?) Thanks!

Glad you're hunting for hybrids! I only wish I was within driving distance!

Yea, you'd have a quite a ride!

I'm watch gas prices go up and up and I figure a few Hybrid cars at the show would get a lot of attention. If anyone is in the Jersey area definitly drop me a line davidjdiller@yahoo.com It will be a fun event and chance to show off you car of the future!

I've been driving my '05 HCH to work since I bought it in late April, but this past week was the first time any of my colleagues had ever commented on it. I've had at least a dozen bring it up since the gas hikes. Many of them are interested in but genuinely unknowing about hybrid technology. Questions range from researched to oblivious:

"Does it live up to the EPA figures?"
"Does it drive and feel like a regular car?"
"How often do you fill up?"
"Can it go over 60 MPH? I heard it can't top the interstate speed limits."
"What's an electric battery?"
"You have two engines?!?!?!?"

I've had a lot of inquiries and requests for suggestions, it's great. People need to take the interest, and a meet is a great way to tell AND show. I never knew Honda made the Civic as a hybrid until I saw one at the annual Jacksonville Auto Show in February. I started really digging in March and drove off the lot with the first one I test drove the next month.

Exactly. I'm sure a lot of SUV drivers are starting to look at their gas guzzelers a little different lately. I noticed that I have one eye on my MPG gauge on my BMW all the time while I'm driving now.
