In looking for a used Volt and am wondering if there is a way to get a Ca. HOV red sticker. My understanding is that you can get a red sticker if the car had never had a green sticker. I also read that the car must have a specific number in the VIN. Has anyone tried this?

 

The clean air vehicle program page still shows current green and white sticker vehicle owners can apply after Jan 2019. But based on the contents of letter, you can download REG1000 form and re apply for HOV sticker with $22 fee. On DMV letter they pre filled some area and application was check under replacement sticker. With my current sticker number.
