Tesla-Swap Polaris RZR is a 300 HP All-Electric Beast
This Tesla-swap Polaris RZR aka “Teslaris” ditches its 100 HP 1-liter two-cylinder IC engine for a Model 3 RWD drive unit.
There’s no arguing that electrification is fast becoming the future of mobility. The automotive industry is employing all-electric powertrains in every segment, whether freight carriers, pickup trucks, or restomods. In a recent video, The Rival Garage offers an in-depth look at a Tesla-swap Polaris RZR. AlteredUTV is responsible for this exciting creation. The all-electric side-by-side is called Teslaris, and it started life as a standard RZR RS1.
This particular restomod ditches its internal combustion powertrain for a rear-mounted Tesla electric motor. The EV is also the world’s first Tesla-swap RZR RS1. In its factory spec, a 1-liter two-cylinder motor powers the RZR RS1. The IC powertrain churns out around 100 HP of maximum power in its standard guide. However, AlteredUTV’s Teslaris draws its power from a pair of Toyota Prius Prime battery packs.
Mark Nielson and Brad from The Rival Garage test drive the Teslaris and share their thoughts on the electric side-by-side in the video. “This thing is so aggressive, shares Mark. He further adds, “This is the craziest thing I’ve ever experienced in my entire life. This is absolutely bananas; this is the most violent vehicle you will ever drive in your entire life.”
Thanks to its Tesla Model 3 RWD drive unit and battery packs, the Teslaris now weighs almost 440 lbs more than the standard Polaris RZR RS1.
Interestingly enough, the all-electric drivetrain of the Teslaris produces almost three times as much power as a standard RZR RS1 powerplant. The battery-only powertrain of the Teslaris produces 303 HP of power and 370 lb-ft of peak torque. As a result, the electric vehicle delivers exhilarating acceleration and can give any modern sports car a run for its money.
The rear-wheel-drive restomod flaunts a beautiful white paint job. The EV also comes complete with a large LED light bar that integrates into the roof. Polaris currently does not offer an all-electric side-by-side. However, the company does offer an electric ATV called the Ranger EV, which is powered by a 30 HP electric motor. Nevertheless, The Rival Garage video is quite a thrilling watch.
