Mustang Mach-E First Drive: Meet 2021’s Fourth-Best Mustang
EXTERIOR DESIGN
While I applaud Ford’s elegant design choices — tri-bar head and taillights, shaved door handles, swooping hips, and a sloping fastback — there’s one thing you can’t ignore about the Mustang Mach-E…
All crossovers look the same.
If you have school-age children, you probably know the parking-lot purgatory the crossover segment proliferates. Back or white four-door rear-hatched bubbles on forgettable wheels.
Transportation. No more, no less.
The Mach-E aspires to stand out in a segment that’s only marginally less bland than The Minivan, but in the Select and Premium trims, I’m not sure it succeeds. That being said, the Mustang infusion indeed elevates a few key areas, and the forthcoming Mach-E GT and First Edition present with a little more flare.
But, as it sits today, I wouldn’t say the Mach-E has much wow factor.
