Chevy Blazer SS Teaser Images Revealed, Toyota To Make

Chevrolet’s Blazer SS is quite a looker, and Toyota’s LiteCruiser would be an awesome EV off-roader… if they make it.

It’s about time! Chevrolet’s revealed a full image of the Blazer SS and it clearly has its sights set on the Mustang Mach E GT.

Let’s get in to how it looks. With wheels pushed out to the far corners, this is a vehicle clearly designed as an EV from the start. But overall it gives a look that’s pleasing to the eye. It also means the mid-size SUV is likely to have gobs of interior space.

But what we are hoping for is the most important part: details on power and battery. According to Car and Driver, GM will finally announce its secrets on July 18th. We’re expecting the range to be about 300 miles, and power to be north of 500 horsepower. That part will be important since it’s the first EV to wear the “SS” badge, and the naysayers will be out in force to criticize GM.

But if the numbers back it up, it could be one of GM’s biggest hits going into the 2024 model year. If you need to get your hands on one, it officially hits showroom floors in spring of 2023.

Officially called the Compact Cruiser EV, this “LiteCruiser” could be Toyota’s first off-road EV.

Electric vehicle and off-roading go together really well. Torquey motors make for great low-speed traction, and low center of gravity batteries help when things stop being flat. Add a small footprint to that and it makes the Toyota Compact Cruiser EV quite appealing.

The Compact Cruiser EV debuted in December of last year, but more recently just won a Car Design Award for Concept Vehicles. Teaser images show Toyota has already applied the “LiteCruiser” name to the compact EV. All but confirmed by Toyota to be in production, this off-roader would be facing competition from the Wrangler plug in hybrid, according to Drive.

Styling is directly derived from Toyota off-roaders of the past, but this one will be an all new adventure for Toyota. We can’t wait to get our hands on one and get muddy!
