Actually the morning temps were in the mid 40's with afternoon temps in the mid to lower 50's. There were three days in the 70s when I drove this month. I had one segment at 69 mpg when it was 41F outside.
Resist,
Pulse and glide at slow speeds. Anticipation of traffic. Try P&G technique between 20 and 30 mph for 10 minutes and see what you get on the consumption screen. I bet it will be in the mid to low 70's mpg.
