I have owned my Prius for 8 days now. So far I am quite happy with it. I am getting in the low 40's to the gallon.

I noticed that it does not have side protection guards/stripes to avoid damage from other cars' doors. It seesm like a good thing to add on, or am I missing something?

 

I assked them to put door edge guards when I bought the car and they didn't put it. I haven't looking for door edge guards for Prius for weeks. I wasn't able to find one.

I had these on my Honda Element and they matched the paint perfectly and were easy to install.

 

I had black body side moldings put on my '04 when I got it home. The installer came to my house and did it in my driveway for about $85 including materials. I think it looks better now with the large area of sand beige broken up this way and they do provide protection for the door panels.
