Stevo,

Prius is also plural.
Why in the world would they do that? 110 hp is not impressive. The Highlander Hybrid's 270 is.

Yeah, hybrid or not, the Prius is not exactly a performance vehicle. Most reviews I’ve read on the 04 model state that it has plenty of power, I think that should help to discourage the stereotyping.

naw..they take out the weak (but efficient) atkins cycle engine, and put in a tuned vertion of the engine it shares w/ the echo that produces 145 hp...um, it would be lightned (..become raceworthy), but i doubt it will be competetive...supposed to handel excelent w/ the tuning to the suspension.

Here's what it looked like at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in UK this weekend:

Specs:
0-100 km/h in 8,6 seconds (0-62 mph)
105 hp engine (instead of 78 hp in the standard)
Voltage: 550 V (instead of 500), this gives 12 more hp
Total hp: 145
Reduced weight: 180 kg (400 lbs)
Tuned suspension and body kit

Toyota says mileage is hardly affected on freeway driving. I wouldn't mind having this one. Or maybe a black one with flames on it!

As a former RX-7 racer, I always wanted to make a Rotary Insight drag racer. Think about it, its already light weight and aerodynamic, plus it woudl be cool to roll up on the line with what looks like an econo car

that racing prius looks tasty.

 GET IN MA BELLY!

i guess if you want your prius to have body mods like that you'd get some modellista parts from japan. but i wouldn't know how to do that.

Rational,
You should so turbo your Insight and race it (Solo I or II would so fit it). You could really show those racer boys that hybrids dont lack on power!
Cheers,
Steven
