Actually I am old enough. However, I was still in Illinois, not having moved to LA area until the 60's.
My point, of course, is that whatever mpg one would get on the flat - or even on average, forget about that. Not only are you sapping fuel at an alarming rate - who knows where that gas is in relation to the fuel line from the, bladder is it?.
Thanks, tho for the history of the grapevine. I can't quite remember what it was like even in the 60's or so.
