Carried my son over to a relative in the new Prius. We are still on the 1st tank but it is showing 52.5 mpg with 240 or so miles at the moment. In the roughly 20 min drive I got 7 regen emblems for 350 whr recaptured, and the 4 5 min segments showed averages of 45-50, 65-70, 65-70 and 90-95 estimated from the bar graph. This is nice information but I don't know the average for the trip. The tank average went up (which is always a good thing but if I had wanted to know the trip average I would have to reset the display and thus loose the running tank average.
The insight I could have gotten the trip average on the segment display while maintaining the tank average on Trip B.
Now the ultimate in flexibility would be if each key transponder kept a second mpg average for that key. This would allow comparisions between drivers provided they always used the separate key. Guess all the hybrids could use more ways of showing off their high fuel economy.
