Wouldn't the fairest thing Toyota could have done (and the factory told me to my face this would NEVER happen) would be to pay attention to the Passenger Seat Sensor (as the Airbag does) and if the old ball-and-chain - I mean Aircraft Commander - was in the seat, the Flat Screen functions would work with one "OK - I promise NOT to drive into a tree" Legal KYA button press. My Garmin Nuvi asks (pleads) this about once a week, max.
