I was talking with one Toyota dealer who told me that the new Prius price is not negotiable.
I am interested in the Prius III (I must have Bluetooth).

I sat in the 2010 Prius and at 6'5" and 240lbs., I can finally fit in a Prius. I couldn't fit in the previous model.

 

Out of curiosity, are you taller in the torso or the legs? I have a friend who is 6'3". He was only able to sit in the front seats on the 2010. He is one of those who is tall in the torso.

 

I have about a 34 to 36" inseam, so I guess I have long legs. I am kind of a linebacker type build though.

 

I just purchased a used 2005 Prius with option package #6, it has bluetooth... just so you don't think you have to spend twice as much on a new car to get that one feature. Also, the guy I got it from was over 6 foot tall and had no problems with fitting into the car, front seat or back.

 

Thanks, but I test drove a 2008 Prius and it was a very uncomfortable fit. I got into a 2010 Prius and what a difference! It was very comfortable.

 

I am guessing that at least one person purchased a 2010 Prius within the past few months.
Do you mind if I ask if you paid the sticker price.

 

yep, paid sticker. we were on the way to the dealer to sign everything and by the time we got there we were informed they sold the car to someone else (to be fair, we were trying to get the price as low as possible, by any means possible). we still took delivery next day. but there you go, sticker on a 2010 Prius (II) . They can't seem to keep them in stock around here (Delaware/Maryland).

I was able to get my 2010 Toyota Prius down $800, but that was it. I also avoided all teh additional charges they try to pin on you after the sale (processing, etc...) After all the "Cash for Clunkers" madness, the dealers are really starving for business. It's all about timing and being totally ready to walk away at any time.

 

I bought a Prius III 2 months ago. I got a $4500 trade-in and he didn't charge for several items. There were a lot of Priuses on the lot, but the one I wanted, a metallic white Prius II was not, so I was upgraded to a Prius III when I agreed to a color change. In total I paid $18,500. It seemed like a good deal, I was going to buy another Corolla because I thought they were much less expensive. I love the Prius, I'm having a blast!

 

Check www.fitzmall.com . They discount and will pick you up at the airport if you fly in to pick one up. I bought a TCH a year ago and drove it back to Texas. I saved thousands with the Gulf States markup. Bargins aren't quite as good now. You can always use their prices as a bargining chip with a local dealer. Good luck!
