Default 3rd party Hydraulic jack placement

Can anyone confirm where the proper hydrolic jack placement for the front should be?
i read the manual and it seems that the placement shown is too deep in between the two front wheels; it seems impossible to reach it. Also, i dont want to risk bending anything underneath if i place the jack just anywhere.

Also, i'm hesitant to jack up on the sides because the holders there are narrow and can easily bend if i use a 3rd party hydrolic jack.

2001 Prius here, frequent DIY tire rotations. I use a hydraulic jack on the corner lift points and sure enough the metal lips are bent. This could be avoided by putting a notch in a 2 by 4 and using that as a "go-between".

Thanks tochatihu,
i'm planning to do maintenance myself too.

the metal lips arent bent yet, so it wont matter if they are right?
i just jack it up and it will just bend on its own correct?

regards,
gj

Probably your floor jack will have a "cup" and the edges of that should go in the notches that indicate the jacking points. A little metal bending is likely, it might be a starting point for corrosion, but I consider this a small matter. There are other marks on the underside of Tochatihu, as a result of occassionaly driving on "uninproved" roads. We'll manage.
