Default Highlander / towing

OK guys I will be looking for a new truck in a year or so. I own a prius (wife) and a 95 chevy s-10 blazer Suv (my truck).

I like the Highlander and need a 4 wheel dive option as I sometime go to the Sierra Nevada off road area fishing or hiking.

Does any one off road with the hybrid system and how do you like it.
Also I might tow a trailer at 2500 lb. and can this be done with the hybrid system.

Toyota's brocher said it can be done, BUT will it work (survive).

Go to the post calledTowing an Airstream with a Highlander Hybrid or click it here. I towed about 2500# and it was an enclosed trailer that was wider and taller than my hihy,I had way more power than I needed but the gas mpg went way down to 18 an hwy speeds.

Today I pulled a friends 13 foot Scamp trailer - all 1000 pounds of it. Only has about 120 pounds of tongue weight. It pulled great with my 2006 Highlander hybrid. My wife and I are looking at a 17 foot Casita trailer. I have spoken with other 17 foot Casita and Highlander Hybrid owners and they say they have no problem towing these fiberglass trailers. Obviously, the mileage goes down.

its feels great to ride a 2006 Highlander Hybrid. I like the mileage Karen (my Highlander) given me.

I have been places with our Chrysler T&C AWD, off-road places, Lynx Lake area outside of Prescott, where I **** well knew that if it rained I wouldn't be getting out for a few days...

At your own risk....!!

But I most certainly wouldn't be going in "there" ("UP" there, really.) towing 2500 lbs and NEVER with a "pretend" AWD RXh or HH
