Are there any easy Highlander Hacks or hidden easter eggs for the base model Hybrid Highlander like there are the Prius. Is there a way to mod an 06" Highlander Hybrid for an EV button?

 

The only hidden feature I know is that you can turn on the nav override so you can program it while moving. That works in the '06 models only I think.

There is no EV mode.

 

Can you please reveal how to do the override?

figured out the '07 nav bypass code? (and for that matter, the bypass code for an '02 Lexus ES 300, if you allow me a slight digression)

The Hybrid ECU on Prius has the EV-switch function, and the EV-switch is factory installed for Japan, EU and AU market. No switch is installed for NA market.
The Hybrid ECU on '07 Highlander Hybrid does not have such function even for Japanese market, so EV-switch for '07 Highlander Hybrid is impossible.

However, it looks the EV-switch will come as default on '08 Highlander Hybrid.

tried that and looked all over online -- it looks like that code sequence was disabled for the '07.models.

 

Yep, that's been widely reported. The new '07 nav system doesn't use the same (if any) override sequence.
