I've got a 2006 Highlander Hybrid purchased in August 2005. My DVD version is 04.2. I've seen newer versions on eBay, and want to update. My question is: Does anyone know whether or not the 2006 Hi Hy uses the Gen 5 software? Is the latest update that I am looking for Gen 5, ver 7.1?

 

Try the 7.1 and see if it works.

You need to tell everybody what the U number is on the disk, then we would all know what you are asking.

 

Sorry my bad, I meant to ask Ventivent if he had any luck trying your suggestion to upgrade his dvd Nav to 7.1. I have the 06 HH with the same version 4.2.

 

Generation 4 now up to v10.1

 

The override for Gen5 only works on a car that has a DVD with the number U30-U35 on it. If yours has that, then it is available at cruisin@live.com

 

Just an FYI. I spent to money on an upgraded DVD recently, and wish I had not. The return on investment was minimum at best. In some cases it was even a step back. For instance. it no longer properly locates my house address. It puts me off by app 1/2 a block. If you try to manually find the address it even has house numbers that do not exist on our street.

 

I dont know where you got the upgrade from, but my Ver10.1 comes from Toyota and I and 1000,s of others dont have your problems. Check to make sure you have ver10.1 and that you have the proper location set in your NAV system. My DVD with override from cruisin@live.com does not have your problems. The override is to die for and dont know how anybody could do without it.

 

It was purchased from the dealer and they have confirmed it is not a set up issue. The new map that came on the DVD does not have house numbers correctly identified.
