Gas milage calculations

Default Gas milage calculations

I know the actual MPG varies from the onboard computer verses manual calcs. I just wounder if anyone has compared there odometer to mile posts to see how accurate it is...JOE

On one long trip, my odometer seemed to be registering low when compared to highway mileposts. I'm not sure how much variation is considered "normal" but I think mine was more than 5% off which seemed quite a bit to me.

Joe,

Check out a prior post "Discrepancies between Energy Monitor and actual MPG ". I typically see that the Energy Monitor reports FE roughly 5% higher than the manual calculations...
