Amen. The fake woodgrain would probably have been a deal breaker for me. As much as I love the rest of the car, I don't think I could have put up with seeing that plastic masquerading as wood every time I got in the car.

Agreed. I've never been a fan of wood trim. It looks dated and cheesy. I, too, would've balked had the car come with "plood". The brushed metallic look complements the rest of the cabin.

If my TCH had come with the wood trim ripping it out would have been one of the first changes.

I would have considered a loaded TCH if there was a way to rip out the leather seats. I wonder if there was a cloth conversion kit. Heated cloth seats (like in a friend's Subaru) would have been perfect.

I liked my fake XLE wood, it was more interesting than the uniform tan plastic in my TCH. It is also smooth so my Garmin Nuvi mount could stick to it near the front of the shifter, whereas the matte silver surface doesn't allow the suction cup to stick. I am thinking about getting an aftermarket sim wood kit for this reason.

I had leather put in my TCH and have the cloth cover. They are tan and in perfect condition. I will sell them at a very reasonable price plus actual shipping cost.

Find a "normal" Camry forum.

Ask for an XLE owner to do a trade of the trim. No cost to you or the other guy.

I'm sure there are XLE owners who would love to have the "aluminum" trim!

But we don't share all of the same interior parts. The XLE driver would at least be left with a wood grain cover over the little bin in the middle of the center console. The Hybrid doesn't have a cover.

Where is my wood grain trim???

When God makes plastic trees I'll start liking plastic wood trim. Until then give me real wood or nothing (However Carbon Fiber would make this drab gray look a lot better)
