What powers the air pressure sensors?
Quick question: Deep within the dark air of my 2007 TCH, what powers the air pressure sensor/transmitters in the tires? Is it some self-winding mechanism like a watch? A battery? A small nuclear reactor perhaps? And will the system alert me to a no-signal, no battery, gotta change the plutonium, or am I driving on a flat until the shredded tire starts a fire?

The sensor in the tire has a tiny lithium battery good for 8 to 10 years. Having a flat fixed with the sensors will cost a little more.

I haven't found that to be the case. In fact, Discount Tire stores do free flat tire repairs for all, even if the tires were not bought there.
