I don't know that they are better. I've had three sets of Weathertech mats on other autos. They really hold up!

The steelers really rip us off with the carpets. I thought that I would give the business to someone that I trust! I paid $100.00 for front mats including shipping.

Warehouse and I are looking at the liners which are more costly, but much better over the long term than any mat. If you go here http://www.weathertech.com/store/veh...pt_choice_id=0 you will see the difference. The liners have a lip that actually goes up, fitting the contours of the floor to prevent slush or other liquids from running off onto the carpet.

You could spill several ounces of liquid onto the floor and have it never touch the carpet, if you are careful about getting off the road and cleaning up the spill. I think they also do plain all-weather mats, but I would not spend the premium on theirs over another brand.

I agree. Those are the ones I have. In grey.

My Toyota Mats have a lip, fit perfectly and even come with a spare set of retaining clips and I bet they can hold a half gallon of liquid before spilling over. Never tried a capacity test though.
Paid about $65 bucks on Ebay from a Toyota Dealer in Michigan.

Schmidtj,

Is this what you have? http://images.andale.com/f2/129/106/...camry_mats.jpg

If so, I agree that your mats are a huge step up form the standard, and well worth the money. They are just not the same application as the WeatherTech, which is a complete lining of the drivers footwell. Your mats look to be durable and maybe even more comfortable than OEM, but I do not see them completely stopping liquid from getting on the carpet if you have to corner or brake hard.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one. Let us know how yours hold up, they look very nice.

Yep, those are them. I'ts been a rather warm winter so far so they have not gotten a whole lot of use and I try to keep my cornering slow enough so VSC doesn't need to kick in so spillage may not become an issue. Ever.

Okay, I just got the liners today and put them in the car. It's pretty dark now or I would have pictures already.

My first impressions:

1) These things look as good as the picture on the website.

2) The lining comes up the footwell sides even more than I thought.

3) If you have kids, the rear set is a MUST! I didn't realize that it's really one molded piece that covers the hump too. It will definitely help with kids that like to "put their feet up".

I am traveling the rest of the week, but will try to get a pic of each one posted this weekend to go along with a brief write-up after my 350+ mile business trip.

Thanks for the response. So how do you like the black color in the gray interior? I looked at mine today and I think that the black will look better than the gray.

Have a safe trip and please post some pics when you get a chance!

I actually like the black. I really agonized over this prior to ordering but in the end decided that clean looking black was going to beat the look of a light color getting worn and stained over time.

The Toyota all weather mats are deeper than they appear in photos. At $70 for front and rear, they're quite a bit less expensive. They've been very useful the past few weeks and have had no problem containing any amount of snow that I've tracked into the car. I even toss my snow shovel into the passenger foot well so the snow stuck to it can melt and then dry on the mat rather than in the trunk where I don't have a waterproof liner.
