Used B mode yesterday coming out of the NC mountains. Was kinda noisy but definitely did slow the car down without having to ride the brake. Prevented me from getting a speeding ticket. The dumbass that passed me wasn't so lucky.

 

The "level" of battery recharge capability via regen can be quite significantly reduced if the "B" mode is used. "B" mode makes use of ACTUAL engine compression braking to slow the vehicle, or keep the roadspeed low, and that can alleviate most of the regen braking capability.

 

It might have been better to just "ride" the brakes, at least until the hybrid battery had accepted all the charge from regen braking that it could. Once the hybrid battery is "full" then a switch to "B' would be most appropriate.
