Trunk will not open 2009
Well I finally had to replace the battery in the fob and now it will not open the trunk. Also the lever on the inside of the car will not open it ether
the only way to open the trunk is to use the key it self. Is there a way to reprogram the fob so it will once again have this feature.
many thanks

In your place I would take the fob apart again and reassemble it. It's possible that you didn't put it together just right, and the trunk button is jammed. I *know* that's possible...

I had the same issue way back when. Turned out to be my issue. Look at the actual lock on the trunk. If the slot is vertical, I believe you have the trunk in valet mode. in this mode the fob or inside release won't work. Take your fob key and turn the lock to horizontal and your will find all is well in the world. Cost me a trip to the dealer to find this on.. (If the slot is horizontal - turn it vertical -- memory is not clear)
It doesn't seem to be in the owners manual that I can find.
I did find the following in the "Emergency Response Guide":
"Inserting the hidden metal cut key in trunk lock and turning clockwise unlocks the trunk lid. For valet service, turning the metal cut key counter clockwise locks and deactivates the smart key and release lever from opening the trunk."
