Probably because Toyota considers the hybrid Camry its flagship vehicle.

Maybe they want to spark some kind of collector's edition frenzy.

"Only 3,000 units will be built at Toyota Motor Manufacturing in Kentucky."

But, if you look closly, the pictured car has a Japan built bumper on it.

I also don't think the package is worth it, but I hate white cars.

I really don't care for the wheels either. The ones standard I think look better.

Not to be too contrary - but I like it! The wheels and pearl paint make the vehicle very distinctive IMHO.

Look around you and will see MANY that have spent at least that much for different wheels/tires - simply to be "distinctive". For some people, it's worth it. I'm certainly not too old to remember the thrill of having different wheels and/or a special paint job than stock.

YMMV

Yep and Toyota took their lead from PT Barnum.

All this anniversary trim makes me think of some domestic automakers and their anniversary/special edition/collector's edition string of gussied up craps.

As for supercharger/turbo, I think it wouldn't be that difficult to bolt one on, seeing how header is so accessible.
