Are there Navigator Options?

Are there Navigator Options?
I didn't opt for the navigation package when I ordered my TCH becasue I did not like the navigation command methods or the software on the Toyota Navi, and I don't really card about the Navi hybrid stuff as I get most of that information elsewhere.
I know I can add the conventional Camry nav, but who wants it? Has anybody looked yet to see if there are better nav packages - maybe for Lexus or other Toyota models that will fit in the TCH center stack? How about one of the Eclipse or Panasonic units? Or mabe the two part monitor GPS systems like Kenwood or Clarion?
Has anyone tried it or investigated it?

Re: Are there Navigator Options?
it should be. Lexus gets a nice dark blue background for the nav unit. What colour is the TCH's?
Also, if you set the units to metric, does the voice guidance speak in metric? (and hence if it's in imperial, does the voice guidance speak in imperial?)

Re: Are there Navigator Options?
Mine came configured in metric, not sure if you can change it to imperial (never looked). Everything is spoken in Km and m.

Not sure which background you are referring to. If the screen itself, most pages are green on black or orage on black (your choice), and the map screen itself has a white background in the daytime and black at night.

Hmm... is it troublesome for you to change it to miles and see if it's speaks in miles?

Re: Are there Navigator Options?
Have you considered going back to the dealer to let them know they installed the wrong unit.

Me too, but I'm expecting the run around with an ultimate answer of not going to change it.

Re: Are there Navigator Options?
For North America, Denso seems to be building all of the current Toyota Nav units, so the operation/functionality is going to be pretty close to the same no matter which unit you get. I don't see an advantage to going with a different model, except it will be hard to install because of the face plate.
There are these units:

(...you might have to sign into eBay to see these.) These are built by a third party, but have never seen one actually running. Not sure if they are better or worse.
What don't you like about the factory unit? I have a lot of units, the Denso one is not bad.
Later!
