The fob probably does have an RFID (or similar) system in it. It's used when the fob's battery is flat; you can start the car by holding the back of the fob close to the Power button. The procedure is explained in the Owner's Manual. It's possible that the store's alarm is being triggered by this portion of the fob's circuitry. If so, I'd suspect that the problem is in the store's system.

Well i found out what was causing the problem. It seems the dealer where I bought my TCH has a loyalty program. When I went in for service they gave me a small tag for my key chain, so the can just swipe the tag and my info will pop up on the computer. This tag is a RFID tag !! So that's was the problem. So needless to say the tag is gone from my key ring and all is well.
Oh yeah , the dealer said I really didn't need the tag it was just something to get their dealership name out there. Are they going to change from the RFID? No they will look into the problem. Typical answer.

Actually, it makes shoplifting easier, since once you show them that it's the key that set off the alarm, they wont notice the flat panel HD TV you are trying to sneak out of the store!
Just kidding, please don't try this at home!
