After 3 years of flawless performance my friend's cell phone will no longer connect with the hands free feature of his 2007 Camry Hybrid. The phone icon is no longer on the info screen of the car's navigation system - just disappeared. Once or twice it has briefly reappeared but doesn't stay long enough to try to re-pair the phone. I also have a 2007 Camry hybrid but I have had no problems with mine. Anyone else have a similar problem?

That's an interesting problem! What does your friend see if he presses the phone button on the steering wheel? Can you get to settings menu that way?
Did he recently update his Navigation software, either with a newer version or a version with the override?
Before taking it in for service, I would reboot the most recently known working software to see if that resets the menus to include the phone icon.

Thanks for the suggestion. After trying it he finds that the telephone screen will return for a moment when using the button but when you try settings it disappears again. His car has had no upgrades - only routine oil and filter changes since new.
