TCH Tax Credit

Re: TCH Tax Credit
Curious.... can you get more than 1 tax credit for buying more than 1 hybrid?
I bought a HCH back in March of 06 and after 8-9 months HAD to get out of it - couldn't stand riding in a little metal box. So, on 12/29/06 I got into my TCH.
I see my tax guy in two weeks - hope he will know.

Re: TCH Tax Credit
Yes you can. The form tells you to keep filling in a new form for every 3 cars you have and put the total on the first form.
So if you have 10 hybrid you bought last year, you would need 4 forms. It also says that you must have bought the car to place it into service, and not for resale, but never gives a minimum usage requirement before you can sell it, so I would think as long as you drove it some, then sold it as used, you can take the credit.

Re: TCH Tax Credit
Actually if you read the 2005 Form 8910 it says "For Vehicles place in services after 2005" and line number 2 says "Enter date during 2006 vehicle was placed in service (MM/DD)" -
Pretty sure this is the form you use!
