After having driven only about 60 or 70 feet, I got a ticket for doing 45 mph in a 30 mph zone. I know that TCH is simply not capable of having that kind of acceleration; I know I was not speeding. Now I need to prove it in front of a judge , needless to say I intend to fight this ticket. Is anybody aware of speed calculators or formulas that would help me to prepare this case? Any other suggestions would be most helpful. Thanks in advance.
Read this "Carefully"

A 60 yr. old guy that I worked with got a ticket in a small town. He new he should have not been given the ticket. Here is the rest:

He has lived in this town for ever:
He is not the smart *** type:
No smart replies to writing officer:
No this was not a speeding ticket but believe me this will tell you what I have read as advice from other members here:
Oh did I forget to mention his wife is a Practicing Attorney in same small town:
In the end she says look it is going to cost us more time and money than we can ever hope to recover by taking this to a courtroom trial:
He in the beginning did not care what it was going to cost because, he was right:
So you are wondering what happened in the end ?
He went to court and was giving the opportunity to go to "Safety-School" and there would be No-Points on his License:
So he calmed down, went to the Safety Class and all was well:
Perhaps I should also mention here that this husband and wife are members in the different organizations that make the decisions for this town:
Also they certainly have the "Funds" if they would have chosen to take this all the way up the Line in the Legal System:

I'm telling you this somewhat lengthy story here to hopefully get you to calm down, go to court, then possibly Safety Class and get on with your life.

You can be right until your Dead but we have to be wise enough to know what "Battles" to {Fight}.

This is not one of them IMHO.

Good Luck,

Terry (tiger)

Are the events date/timestamped? I suspect it's a rolling days worth of data that would be difficult to match a particular event to a specific time of day. As such I think the info would be next to useless in the OP's court case.
The OP hasn't convinced me he really knows WHERE he was actually clocked. It could have been two blocks BEFORE the stop sign.

Eskimonio, care to share your ideas on how to deal with one of those? Houston recently installed a couple of those around town, it's a new concept to us down here...

If you're going to get into exhibits and evidence, you're going to have to get a lawyer. You're not going to be able to authenticate and admit carchip evidence just by showing up with it. It's not the system trying to screw you. It's rules of evidence.

I beeped (as he passed me) at a cop once when I was 17 for tailgating me on a highway. Big mistake, the guy had on the classic mirror shades and a wooden match in his mouth to boot. I was like, oh crap, I'm screwed. Lot's of sorry sir, yes officer, I understand officer, won't hapen again officer, and I got off without even a warning.

I don't want to hijack this but just need to comment that nothing pisses me off more than cops not following the rules of the road. (Of course some would say well that's because they make the rules...) I don't care. I see cops on cell phones driving around, I see them tailgating, I see them not using their signals, and the number of annoyance is when they put on their lights just to get through a red light.

Every time I see a cop my blood pressure swells because I've been screwed by so many. Stopped without cause, harassed and so on. I have such a sour taste in my mouth for the law. I just try to avoid them as much as possible.

Ok...done

Haha, not really. Apparently I look "suspicious." For example, the last time I was pulled over was because I cross over the white line because the cop has someone stopped on the opposite side of the road and there were on coming cars. I was giving the cars room to move over so they wouldn't hit the cop. I in turn got pulled over for "suspicious" driving and had to explain why I crossed the white line. The had already asked me for my license and registration and in order to get it I had to take my seatbelt off, while he was watching, to reach in my pocket. After my explanation he tried to accuse me of not wearing my seat to which I replied that he just watched me take it off to get my wallet.

I don't trust them. They break the law all the time and some abuse their power. That's all. It causes the blood pressure to go up.

I agree... it's not that I don't like cops, I don't like traffic cops, which seems to be the majority of their role in suburbia.
