Default TCH is home

We went to the dealership at 6pm, did the whole delivery checklist, signed the zillion papers required for financing, etc.. We left the dealership just shortly before 8pm, and I just pulled into the driveway 5 minutes ago.

It had 1 (ONE!) mile on the odometer and a range of 533 on the full tank. My average so far is only 27mpg, though .

At one point when I knew that the ICE was not running I turned off the a/c and the radio so I could listen to the utter quietness. I love this car...

I have a 2 year old son, and a husband who spent all day in 100 degree weather outdoors at a company meeting/picnic and is suffering from heat exhaustion and low blood sugar... I didn't have too much choice .

Have you explained to your son the operation of the HSD yet?

The first thing my car-loving son said while sitting in the TCH (on his father's lap in the front seat while it was parked in the dealership lot without any mirrors night-before-last) was, "Let's hit the road!"

When we arrived at the dealership last night he said, "Let's go see Mama's car!" And he wanted to get down and go find it. He loves the TCH. He never really had too much excitement about my little beige Corolla, but he seems thrilled with "mama's big green car."

Personally, I can't wait to drive it today... too bad I will just be driving it to work this morning. Can't wait for the weekend!
