The TCH Heater
Has anyone else noticed that the heater - once set to a temperature, reaches that temperature (76 for example) quite quickly then it seems to just blow cool air for quite a while afterward. The cool air seems to drop the temperature below what I have just set it for...but the TCH doesn't seem to think so. So it says the car is 76, but I know 76 when I feel it. (smiling)
It's strange. Anyone have experience with this phenomena?
FYI....this forum is one of the many unexpected benefits of owning this amazing vehicle.

Thanks
Actually, experimenting with it a bit last night, I believe it may be related to having the system in ECO mode. I took it out of ECO mode and the heat functioned as I would have expected it to.
I'll be testing this again later today.

Certainly not...I've a lot of family that live there and while they enjoy the mild winters, most of them are trying to find a way to move to a smilar climate that isn't so prone to damage from the hurricanes (with us it's Tornados) ...
6 months out of the year it's harder to find a nicer place to live than Minnesota. A couple of months are downright in-hospitably cold and the other 4 months are so-so..
Be that as it may - The ground doesn't shake and Tornados are in-frequent - I think I'll stay put for a while...
Now to see just how good that heater works when it's -30f outside.. Since my car will sit outside literally it's whole life - I should be able to atest to it's ability to start in the really cold weather.. Although I'm not really looking forward to that..
Used the heat for the first time this morning. It was 46 at 5:00 am. Had heat before I got up to the end of my driveway. I did notice it would blow cool air after achieving the desired temperature (75). The A/C was still on so I switced it off and solved that problem except occasionally had to kick it back on going down into a valley to keep the windows from fogging.
Heated mirrors worked great too, just a few seconds and the dew was gone. Not cold enough to try the heated seats yet though.
Also fueled up at 569 miles...took 14.2 gallons and was not quite empty though the cruising range ran down to zero a few miles earlier.

Does anybody know if the cabin heater is strictly electric, or once the engine has warmed up does it use (as a conventional car) the waste heat from the engine?
