TCH color availability
Jasper Pearl! I live in central IL and traveled 100 miles south to a dealer who was willing to deal. That dealer, KC Summers, dealer-traded my car from Joe Machens in Columbia, MO. The dealer at the time (Oct. 07) guaranteed that he could get whatever color I wanted. I visited 2 other dealers before and it really comes down to how much the dealer cares. I am so thankful for KC Summers and the deal I got as I had an 06 Grand Cherokee Hemi before. I now fill up every 4 weeks or so.
I live in Bloomington, IL, home of State Farm. They have a Jasper Pearl in their fleet. I know of 2 others in town, as well. I've seen every color available here. Red and Mag. Gray seem dominant, though. White seems the rarest as well as the light blue color.
I've been reading this board for a year and finally decided to start posting. Thanks to all for all the great information!

I wanted Jasper Pearl, but I was told I would have to wait up to four months to get it! I settled on Titanium (Silver as far as I can tell) because I had to wait only eight weeks.
I wanted Mag Gray but spotted my new black '07 TCH (now 15,060 mi., 36/39 mpg, nary a rattle nor glitch) on the lot and bought it that day. I still think mag gray is gorgeous, but I do so love my black.
I've lived with black cars before. They can look tacky when dirty, but in my opinion all cars do. I've owned white, and gray too, and when they were dirty, there was nothing gorgeous about them. They didn't fool people into thinking they were clean. They didn't fool me, anyway. My dirty cars have looked dirty to me no matter what the color.
But when black cars are clean and waxy, I think they're extra fabulous.
Blue, by the way, sure is a great TCH color.

In NYC, black TCHs are being painted yellow and converted to taxis. Black and red were in stock at various dealers, but I wanted white or blue ribbon. I was lucky and got a white car that was driven up from Pennsylvania.
Okay, I'll bite. I never painted a car, but if they are painting them anyway, what difference would the base color be?

Also, this is what the dealer explained when I asked why there were so many black TCHs on his inventory.
