Default Tax credit time

( also posted this on the highlander form ) We bought a 2007 camry last summer before the tax credit went down. To day at the taxmans place we were getting to the tax deduction part of the nightmare when he asked if we had a tax credit slip from the dealer when we bought it. I dont know if there is such a thing??? Does anyone know how to file for the hybrid tax credit ? do I need a slip of paper saying hybrid tax credit on it or will the purchase papers work??? HELP ! JOE

I respectfully believe you need a new taxman. It is my understanding that there is no documentation needed to file, just keep the pruchase order from the dealer in case you are audited.

I think Jeff is right...you don't need anything special from the dealer. You just need to make sure that the word Hybrid shows up on the paperwork from the dealer (just in case you are audited).

You don't need any documentation for federal. In Oregon you need to file with the Department Of Energy and receive a certificate to be included with your state return.

If you go to the Toyota web site you can find info and declaration forms.

http://www.toyota.com/camry/index.ht...N_HYBRID_CAMRY

At the bottom of the first paragraph is a link for the tax info.
