Talked to a TCH owner... WOW
I was on the way back from Orlando last Saturday and pulled off at an exit to get gas. It was a small gas station and not the nicest. I had the Highlander because I was towing a trailer. I saw a Camry pull on the other side of the pump. I did not really notice that it was a TCH at first. I see so many regular Camrys here I don't flinch at them much anymore. I noticed the guy was bent over looking for the gas cap release. I then realized this must be a Hybrid and it was. I asked the guy how he liked his Hybrid, he said he loved it. I told him that I owned one and he looked shocked. He said but these just came out. I said well they have been out since May and I got mine in August. He asked me what kind of MPG we were getting and when I asked him the same thing he said he did not know.
He told me he had the car for about 2 weeks and he really knew nothing about it. He came out of a Prisus and was used to the big display. He did not have the NAV and did not know how to scroll though the screens on the display. They said their sales person knew nothing about the car. They did not even know about the tax credit! I talked to them about 20 minutes and said that I was very helpful.
My salesman knew nothing about it. My mom bought a XLE V6 1 month ago and her salsman knew nothing about the Camry Hybrid.

I did, but I really doubt this guys knows how to turn on a computer.
The salesman said he didn't know anything about the TCH because he didn't have any TCHS and he did have XLEs in stock.
It reminds me of the time I sent my wife to Macys Auto Service to get Goodyear tires because they were on sale. When I returned home after work I found Sears(Michelins) on the car. I asked my wife why no Goodyears. She said the salesman told her he'd sell her better tires at the same price. He could have said "Lady, you're in the wrong store!" But then she would have left the store embarassed and he wouldn't have sold a set of tires.
