Default "sending" vs "dialing"

The bluetooth link has worked flawlessly between my TCH and Motorola Razr since May.

I make most calls by pushing the "off-hook" button, selecting one of the six preset buttons, and pushing the "off-hook" button again.

The TCH confirms by announcing "dialing" and the word scrolls across the display. The "ringing" sound is heard until the other party answers and we have a normal hands-free conversation.

Yesterday, instead of replying "dialing", the voice said "sending" and "s-e-n-d-i-n-g" displayed momentarily but nothing happened.

At the time, four bars were displayed next to the BT icon, so I repeated the process, using different presets without ever making a connection. Each time the response was "sending", not "dialing".

Normally, the radio mutes when the "off-hook" button is pressed and remains off until I push the "hang-up/cancel" button. Yesterday, the radio came back on immediately after the "sending" announcement.

Has anyone else gotten the "sending" announcement? What does it mean?

Any replies will be appreciated.

I'll assume you have the Non-NAV Bluetooth implementation. Correct? Because nothing you describe sounds at all familiar but I have the NAV version.

Yes, my TCH is non-NAV.

Don't the NAV models have pre-set buttons and normally confirm with the voice announcement, "Dialing"?

It displays DIALING on the display screen but no voice confirmation. Yes it has preset buttons. 26 of them plus last number dialed for a total of 27. 3 pages of 9 each.

Thanks for the reply -- I can't imagine my TCH not "talking" to me..

I suspect the odd "sending" response is some kind of cell phone system quirk and not a TCH glitch.

It may have something to do with high system use or roaming since it occurred during the evening rush hour when I was out of town.
