I do like the pictures I've seen of the 18" TRD's but since you don't keep the 16's and this is an option not an "extra" set of wheels it seems like $1500 would be on the high end for this option.
I'm also not sure why they think everyone would want an 18" wheel/tire combo. Rougher ride, less tread wear and more expensive tire replacements are not something that Hybrid owners are probably interested in as a group. Not many are buying this car trying to make it look like a high performance vehicle. A few people, yes, but not an entire geographical area. Besides with a set of wheels like that I can imagine sitting at a red light and the kid on a bike asks you to rev it up. Try explaining to him the engines not running.

Just placed an order with these guys:
Pretty good prices. Got the wheel locks , all weather mats, and the mudguards.
Do those mudguards really work. I had them on my previous car and it didn't help out one bit.
